Though the celebration started with songs, Christmas cake cutting, it ended with a lot of moist eyes as the inmates bared their hearts and relived the happy times of their lives. The plight of the inmates touched the teachers and MPTA members.
8” Compassion - Hair For Hope
Acts of compassion for cancer patients can take them a long way ahead, especially in speeding up their healing process leading from depression to delight. To boost up their self-esteem, wigs made of natural hair are planned to donate, reinstilling confidence in people who wear them. In this light, we conducted “Hair For Hope” camp on 8th December in our school auditorium. Giving away a little bit of blessing, abundantly gifted to us by the Almighty, to the needy, does re-affirm, our steadfast determination upholding, pursuing and adhering to the noble principle of social commitment, - a Sine-qua-non for any institution.
The camp was inaugurated by Shri. Shafi Parambil Honourable MLA, Palakkad. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Parayil, our school manager rendered the presidential address. Dr. K P Reetha, District Medical Officer flagged off the ceremony. Rev. Fr. Paul Thekkiniyath, Principal glimpsed through the proceedings of the programme. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Chiramel, our administrator felicitated on the occasion. Special counters were arranged for hair cuttings. 322 members contributed to this act of benevolence, donating their hair which includes students, parents, teachers, non-teaching members, MPTA members , Alumni and well-wishers. 10.020 Kg of hair was collected in the hair cutting session, all within 30 minutes(11:30 a.m – 12 noon). The hair collected was handed over to Hair Bank (Thrissur), an NGO who in turn will make wigs and Bharathamatha HSS will distribute it to cancer affected patients free of cost at a later ceremony.
Rev. Fr. Raju Nellisserry CMI conducted a motivational class for students of class 10 – 12 on 1st December. Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Was the message conveyed by the resource person.
