Two days residential camp for students of class 10 was conducted in BMHSS on 27th & 28th Dec 2016. This program covered various aspects which included Goal Setting, Career Guidance Program, Vedic Mathematics & How to study?, Yoga & Meditation, Emotional Intelligence, Teen Age Understanding, Introduction to MCQs, Exam & Results & Activity- Effective Communication. We express our gratitude to the Parents (Mrs.Mythili, Mrs.Mohini, Mrs.Jayasree, Mrs.Sudhasanjai, Mrs.Suja, Mrs.Manjula & Mr.Narayanankutty) & Teachers (Mrs.Latha Kannankutty, Mrs.Jayasree, Mrs.SreedeviRajagopal, Mr.ShivaramaKrishnan, Mr.Srivalsan & Mr.Biju) for their continuous support and presence throughout the programme.
Jingle & Mingle Christmas Celebration
Christmas celebration for students was conducted on 9.12.2016.Our manager Rev. Fr. John Thattil presided over the function. Asst. District Collector –PalakkadSri Umesh IAS rendered the key note addressand Rev. Fr. Dr. Jose Paul was our guest of honour. The evening celebration for our friends, well-wishersand neighbours was conducted on the same day, with smt. Indira Dist. Judge - Ernakulam as our chief guest. Mr.Joby V Chungath was our guest of honour, with a special invitee Mrs. Rajalakshmi K Marutharode Panchayath President.Advt. Vinod Kayanat, our PTA President felicitated the occasion. The function went on with festive fervor and gaiety. All the children enjoyed the beats of "Jingle Bells" special Christmas cake was distributed to all. Christmas celebration on 23.12.2016 was exclusively for the staff and management of Bmatha.
The first of its kind forever in the history of Bharathamatha - its inmates are getting together with a family as a family. The Family Orientation Programby Rev.Fr. Paul Pottekkal has been specially designed to give an insight on life and relationship, to give a better definition for family life and for a self-evaluation.
Bharathamatha celebrated Ethnic Day on 1.12.2016 in full pomp and splendour. In the era of modernization and westernization when most people are moving away from their own culture and history, events like Ethnic day enable the young generation to revive love and respect for their own culture and history. Ethnicity plays a major role in how students’ personality is shaped. Little ones were provided with an opportunity to celebrate the vibrant and colourful day. The whole campus carried an ethnic atmosphere with students in their dazzling, colourful, exquisite traditional apparel. World AIDS day was also celebrated on Dec 1st . The volunteers of KESS Mr.Navas & Mr. Antony created awareness among students on AIDS, the pandemic disease due to the infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary
The school nature club camp to Chimmony wildlife sanctuary on October 27, 28 2016.
There were 36 students in the study camp under the leadership of Dr. K.Suresh. Mr.Dharmaraj,one of the student of Mr.Johnsy Jacob who established study camp in Kerala took class which was very inspiring. The Chimmony dam, the experience of trekking, fresh air, gentle breeze and pure streams, the darkness and deep silence of the forest, which the members visited along with the guidance of Mr. Dharmaraj was an unforgettable moment. The small waterfall inside the forest was cold and refreshing. The camp was successfully complete and was an excellent and great experience for us.
Vegetable Harvest - A Treasure Trove Of Happiness
The students started a small organic farm on the premises of our school. The idea is to make the students aware of the various activities involved in traditional farming and encourage them to find time to initiate small-scale farming at their schools and homes. The students received training in basic farming methods needed to start organic farming and grow vegetables such as tomato, ladies finger, spinach, pea, brinjal, chillies etc. Sowing seed, raising seedlings, watering, weeding and harvesting the final product gives lot of pleasure.
BMHSS Students on a Clean up Mission
As part of the Swachh Bharath Mission, students cleaned an area of the very popular Fort Maidan in the heart of Palakkad town. More than hundred students participated in the campaign.
Diwali being the a pan India festival, was celebrated with great pomp and show in the BMHS school premises. The school was decorated very tastefully with Shimmers. Children came in traditional attire. It was celebrated with great zeal & vigor. Children brought sweets and exchanged with each other. The respective class teachers organized songs and dances which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
The happy and smiling faces of children spread the light of joy in the hearts of all. This was followed by a grand show of Fire crackers. Rev. Fr. Paul Thekkiniyeth wished the staff and students a joyous Diwali.
Fantasy Park Tour
The students of KG & LP experienced a day of fun and frolic at the Fantasy Water Theme Park, Malampuzha on the 21st of Oct. 249 students were accompanied and taken care by both teachers and non-teaching staff. The children were let free to play till afternoon on all the land rides at the park. After lunch they enjoyed the water rides and the wave pool to the core. Adding to this they were mesmerized by the 16 D Cine magic ride. Altogether the day was a relief from their busy academic schedule.
Field Trip - Poly Farm Visit
The students of class 8 were taken to Perumatty Agro Farm, at Kampalathara, Chittur Taluk for a field trip as a part of their curriculum. The students where enriched with various agricultural techniques like 'Poly-House Farming','Precision Farming' etc.
Students were also provided with certain cultivation-tips from the experts of the farm. Adding glory to the visit, they also got an opportunity to have short discussions with the State Agricultural Director - Sri. BijuPrabhakaran. It was a beneficial trip which educated the young minds with the concept “Agriculture for all in the Society”.
Karate Orientation Camp
Karate Orientation Camp "Karate in Tokyo Olympics 2020" was held in our school to create awareness on importance of Karate. Karate will make its first appearance as an Olympic sport at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Sakthan & Jayaram Classes
Sakthan & Jayaram Classes conducted an orientation programme "Catch Them Young" for the parents and students of class 8, 9 & 10 which aims at introducing a short term course for students enhancement in 5 areas: Setting up the goal, Effective communication, Personal effectiveness, GK enhancement, Competitive exam preparations.
A group of experts Changathi conducts a monthly visit to address & sort out the anxiety, temperamental issues faced by the students especially for classes 9 - 12. The team consists of psychologists, academicians and other relevant experts.
